Kumar Sangakkara is 39 runs away from becoming the seventh batsman to score a century in his 100th Test. If so he will become the first Sri Lankan to achieve it.
Sri Lanka playing its first innings in the third Test match with Australia and so far had scored 166 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Batsmen on crease Sangakkara and Mahela had scored 61 and 31 runs respectively.
Sri Lanka yesterday bowled out Australia for 316 runs in their first innings of third Test at SSC grounds. Sri Lankan debutant Shaminda Eranga bagged four wickets just 65 runs and Chaminda Welagedara got 3 wickets for 75 runs.
Australia got a striking start for the innings with Michael Hussey’s brilliant 118 and Marsh’s 81 but however, the lower order did not succeed well and the last 4 wickets were fell for just 23 runs.
Sri Lanka will be starting today-third day of the Test match – with a trail of 150 runs.
