President hold talks with World Leaders

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has had discussions with head of states while he is at New York to attend the 66th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Progress of resettlement of IDPs and de-mining activities in the North and East after defeating terrorism, post-conflict management and the success of the recent Local Authority Elections held in those areas are the main focused during the discussions.

Slovenian President Dr. Danilo Trk has praised the steady growth Sri Lanka have had in terms of Economy and Development with the reconciliation process. Bilateral relations pertaining to economy and trade were highlighted during the discussion held by President Rajapaksa with the Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.

Kirgizstani President Roza Otunbayeva has appreciated Sri Lankan Tea. President Rajapaksa requested his Kirgizstani counterpart to send a delegation to Sri Lanka to undertake research work on Sri Lankan Tea.
