Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara has won the ODI player of the year award at the ICC Awards ceremony in London. Sangakkaara has also won the LG People’s Choice award for the second consecutive time.
Cricket fans around the world has voted Sangakkara for the award, for which South Africa’s Hashim Amla, England’s Jonathan Trott, West Indies’ Chris Gayle and India’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also competed.
However, Sangakkaara could not collect the award in person, as he was in Sri Lanka playing for the Sri Lanka– Australia Test Series in Colombo.
